Cisco - Amazon store
In the times of the pandemic, Cisco wanted to reach out to the small business sector in the rising of the new businesses. Everyone knows Cisco to be the large and intimidating company but we wanted to change that perception and make our products look simple and easy to use. My team and I were assigned to the project to bring this idea to life.
The solution
We wanted to show simplicity, in the use of words and in the use of the graphics.
Gave text some nice hierarchy so it doesn’t look like an overload of information.
We added convenience by categorizing products together so users can quickly narrow down on what they need.
We used beautiful imagery and graphics to captivate and engage the user in the page.
We also custom made the layouts on mobile so we can check the type sizes to make sure it’s still legible.
Translate to mobile
I studied the modules on Amazon advertising to understand how a translation to mobile would work for the site. After research, I learned that top banners do not have an option for mobile version while the larger modules on the page can be swapped out when we hit that mobile breakpoint.
Ensure top banners have text sizes that are large enough to translate to mobile since it can’t be swapped for smaller devices.
Created modules in similar format for mobile so they can be easily legible in small screens.
Amazon Store Team
My main role in this project was to design all the layouts and create a consistent look and feel through all the pages. Another big task was to learn and understand how to work with the Amazon modules. That would help me figure out when to swap certain tiles to mobile and create those assets.
